Pilot Projects
Improved Wood-Burning Stoves
With your help, Mujerave will construct five stoves for families that cook over an open fire inside their homes as part of our pilot projects. Lessons learned from the pilot projects will serve Mujerave as it scales up operations in 2016. The goal is to collect enough funds to build an additional 60 stoves in 2016. Greenhouses
Guatemala has the highest child malnutrition rates in the Americas. When subsistence farmers can only grow corn and beans, these are also the only foods that they can eat. Women in Totonicapán can control the climate inside of the greenhouse, and grow crops they otherwise would not be able to grow. This means a wider array of foods get onto children's plates, and they get the vitamins and minerals they need to overcome chronic malnutrition.
