UPDATE: FUNDRAISERS FOR COVID-19 RELIEF

Feed Guatemalan Families

Five Returned Peace Corps Volunteers from Totonicapán, Guatemala, including Mujerave's Founder, have teamed up to feed Guatemalan families impacted by COVID-19. As the virus continues to spread in rural Guatemala, public transportation is suspended and local markets are closed. In collaboration with local indigenous women on our Guatemalan Board of Directors, Mujerave has designed a project to ensure that kitchens remained stocked with basic staples during the lockdown in Guatemala.

Lydia Lux, a Ministry of Health employee at the Medical Center in Santa María Chiquimula, is also a member of the Guatemalan Board of Directors for Mujerave. According to Lydia, "we don't have anything, no gloves, no masks, not even liquid soap or sanitizer. We see patients all day and return home to our families. We are living and working in fear."

Mujerave's Plan

Our plan is simple – we listen to the needs of indigenous women in rural Guatemala and collaborate with them on sustainable development projects to improve family and community health.

With the support of donors like you, we implement high-impact projects designed by indigenous Maya K'iche' women in Totonicapán, Guatemala. Because our work is informed by thousands of years of culture and tradition, our projects improve family and community health while preserving Maya cultural traditions and reducing deforestation and environmental degradation.
